Scientific Games Acquires DEQ Systems to Expand Gaming Portfolio

The leading innovator at the gaming and lottery systems Scientific Games, which operates in the UK under its subsidiary SG Gaming revealed that its acquisition of DEQ Systems Corp. was finalised. The takeover of the Canadian market leader in table games, progressive systems, utility solutions and live proprietary table games is expected to be greatly beneficial for Scientific Games, as it would help the latter expand its portfolio for casinos with innovative and qualitative product range.

The transaction was completed with the help of McMillan LLP that acted as legal advisor to Scientific Games and Union Gaming Securities that acted as financial counsel to DEQ Systems. The latter also worked with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP that acted as its legal advisor.

The Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games Group Derik Mooberry commented on the deal, saying that the table product portfolio of DEQ was currently available in over 300 casinos on a global scale. According to Mr. Mooberry, the deal would result in expanding the portfolio of Scientific Games as far as table progressive systems solutions and proprietary table games are concerned.

The company’s boss explained that the addition to the high-quality table games library, as well as the other products offered by DEQ Systems was expected to enhance Scientific Games’ recurring revenue base and expand the Suffle Master games and table solutions portfolio even more.

As revealed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, the content that is to be implemented thanks to the takeover deal, includes DEQ Systems’ portfolio of table progressives, table games, as well as the random bonusing systems such as Progressive Pai Gow Poker and EZ Baccarat. It seems that the team of Scientific Games is especially thrilled with the addition of EZ Baccarat, which is currently considered as the leading baccarat brand on a global scale, offering more than 800 table games in 150 casinos all over the world.

Over the past year, Scientific Games has been primarily focused on consolidating its presence on global regulated markets through making partnership agreements. Thanks to these deals, the content provided by Scientific Games went live with a number of casino and gaming platforms and expanded its reach to more customers worldwide. The global expansion plans of the company has been the centrepiece of its policy in 2016 and remain as such in 2017.
